It is more important to have something to celebrate than worrying about how to celebrate it.

Anyone helps me to a success is welcome to fist bump me.

I don't like being called 'bruv' or being told to 'crack on'

Am I honestly the only person on here who doesn't get angry or arsey about how other people talk?

My 'it's all good' gripe actually came up while talking to someone preparing for an interview. They said it way to much in my opinion, and also 'like' and 'so'. These things can leave an impression. No idea where this procreation idea of yours comes from.

I had to pull somebody up for saying 'anyways' the other day, and remind them that they are English, and not in an American sitcom.

You also seem to be taking issue with something which is clearly quite a personal experience to you in your work environment and extrapolating it into some big huge societal thing.

Might as well take issue with people who say hello by saying "alright mate?" as they're quite clearly not interested in your personal wellbeing and almost certainly do not want to procreate with you.

"Many people, often younger people who ironically probably have more to say and share, have simply lost the ability to communicate clearly."

I bet people have been saying that exact same thing since ancient egypt.

Re: Folk who "Fist Bump" or "Brofist" and say "Good Job!"
Lamenting the lack of clear language has less to do with wanting to revert to a bygone century and more to do with missing clarity. Many people, often younger people who ironically probably have more to say and share, have simply lost the ability to communicate clearly.

It can be more serious than a whinge too. How many of these people who glibly snap "It's all good" or "I'm good" are actually responding thoughtfully? If used occasionally as the modern equivalent of "I'm fine thank you", then it'll usually suffice as a meaningless pleasantry. But used all the time, even in response to direct questions, it just becomes banal and meaningless.

In professional communications (How is that project progressing? Do you have any concerns about the Jones account? How does the team feel about the merger talks?) then ''It's all good' is unconstructive and dismissive. In personal communications, 'I'm good' is a deflection and revealing (They're busy, they didn't hear you, they cannot express themselves, they're not actually well at all, they just don't like you and want you to go away...)

Information is more useful when its rich, less so when it's not. 'How was your meal at the new restaurant?' 'All good'. 'What was Buenos Aires like?' 'Nice'.

But ultimately language is useful, effective, powerful, emotional and it's a crying shame to lose it. Bemoaning its loss is usually valid, not antiquated.

So. Anyway. Whatever. It's all good.

Folk who refer to people as 'folk'.

Re: Folk who "Fist Bump" or "Brofist" and say "Good Job!"
I think we should all go back to how we spoke in the 17th century, when English was spoken properly and before all this terrible change that makes our lives so unbearable.

Re: Folk who "Fist Bump" or "Brofist" and say "Good Job!"
In a similar vein, it seems that "It's all good" "I'm good" etc... has become almost ubiquitous now.

It's just nonsensical. You're 'good'? What, well-behaved? Virtuous? Or do you actually mean you are feeling well, or that things are satisfactory? Grating.
